By Tim Clodfelter *Originally published by Winston Salem Journal* A movie directed by a television actor from Winston-Salem will be screened at a Burlington theater several times over the next week.
The film, “Find a Way,” was filmed in the Burlington area. It was directed by Burgess Jenkins, an actor from Winston-Salem who has gone on to have a recurring role on the ABC TV series “Nashville.” The cast includes a number of local actors, among them Ashley Jenkins, James Freetly, Michael Kimmel, Jayson McCardell, Mike Paolucci, Hosanna Gourley, Tara Gulledge, Muhammed Abdulla and Vonnie Bristow. The faith-based movie is loosely based on a true story from Burlington about the impact the unexpected death of a high-school quarterback has on his community. “It shows how one person’s life, even when shortened, can touch and change the lives of so many others,” Jenkins told me last year when he was discussing the film. The screenings will be held at the Paramount Theater, 128 E. Front St. in downtown Burlington, at the following times: Monday, 1, 3 and 6 p.m.; Friday, 6 and 8 p.m.; Saturday, 1, 3, 6 and 8 p.m.; and next Sunday, 3 and 5 p.m. Tickets are $10 and can be ordered in advance through the theater’s box office at (336) 222-8457. Tickets will also be sold at the theater. After the screenings, Jenkins will meet with distributors to discuss further distribution of the film, which may go into theatrical release, come out on DVD or be shown on television.
